Celebrity hook-ups and break-ups of 2012

Last year we saw some of those Marmite couples that we either loved or hated break up, for example, Katy Perry and Russel Brand, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries and even Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.  2012 has already seen many celebrities getting together along with many breaking up.  With only 3 months into the year so far, it seems that the year is going downhill for the celebrity land of love.  This article will guide you through some of the biggest hook-ups and break-ups of 2012 so far.

The hook-ups

- LeBron James longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson to be his wife.

LeBron James was found to be associated with a different kind of ring after he proposed to
his high school sweetheart Savannah Brinson on a New Year’s Eve party just after his 27^th birthday.  The couple already have two sons, 7-year-old LeBron Jr., and Bryce, 4.  They have settled in well into Miami where the family moved following James’ decision to change to the Heat team.  Rumours surfaced last summer that James was having an affair with former American Idol champ Jordin Sparks, before she got together with Jason Derulo.

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling also found happiness after being spotted kissing and hugging many times since January.  There were recent rumours that Ryan Gosling was linked to a Blonde in South Africa, but the couple are still together and very much in love.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got engaged in February after five years of on-off dating.  The couple plan to tie the knot later this year, perhaps even as early as the summer. We’ll be waiting to see what the dress looks like then!

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose

One that probably still surprises us is that of Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose who got engaged in early March after he proposed to her.  Both of them tweeted a photo of the ring, expressing their joy.  Rose has already been talking about how she feels ready for children, so maybe a baby will be soon on the way too.

CASPER SMART & JENNIFER LOPEZ

One of the big hook-ups of 2012 has to be Jennifer Lopez and her back up dancer Casper Smart who is 18 years younger than her! Yes, 18. They recently shot her new music video in Mexico, with rumours that they got married there (not true).  Maybe a marriage will be on the cards too though?

The break-ups

Nick Jonas and Delta Goodrem

Delta Goodrem and Nick Jonas split up after 9 months of dating; another couple where the female was older, in this case by 8 years to 19 year old Nick Jonas.  They had a civil break-up due to both parties wanting to focus on their careers and remain friends.

Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth

The attractive doctor-vampire in The Twilight Saga actor Peter Facinelli also split with his long term wife of 11 years, Jennie Garth, after Facinelli was rumoured to be cheating on her during the shooting of Breaking Dawn, although the rumours have been denied by the couple. They have two daughters together and insisted that they would still bring them up the best they could even if not together.

Sophia Bush and Austin Nichols

Sophia Bush and Austin Nichols co-stars from One Tree Hill also broke up in February just before the series finale aired.  Apparently Bush stated that he is not the one.  He was the third co-star that she had dated – does she plan to go through them all?

Emma Roberts & Chord Overstreet

Glee star Chord Overstreet and the Screams 4 star Emma Roberts also ended their relationship after 6 months of going public.  She spoke highly of him saying that he was a good boyfriend, but apparently that she was not looking for anything serious.  She has also previously dated Alex Pettyfer with whom she appeared on Wild Child.

50/50 - Will it happen? I have an itchy feeling it will.

And finally one of the biggest ones that is still “are they, aren’t they?” is former celebrity couple Rihanna and Chris Brown.  The couple split up in 2009 after Brown actually physically beat up Rihanna after her Grammy’s performance.  Now with both them already appearing on remixes for each of their songs (Rihanna’s very explicit Birthday Cake and Brown’s Turn up the Music), along with rumours that they will be holidaying together in order to see if they can work out their differences, will it be long before they also become a couple hook-up of 2012?
